Amazing Birthday Card with Positively Chevron Background

Chalkboard Birthday

Here’s another card with a great background stamp that is on the Stampin’ Up! retiring list, so be sure to order it now before it’s gone! I’ve also used the Amazing Birthday and Something to Say sets, which will be in the new 2015-2016 catalog, and the Chalkboard paper and Colorbox Chalk inks that are in the Spring Occasions catalog, which may or may not be in the new catalog; we will have to wait and see. One thing to remember about this card is that I used Basic Gray ink on the background: that ink is going to be reworked to a more stable formula, so it would be best to wait until June 2nd to order that color.

Start by by stamping the Positively Chevron background with Basic Gray ink on Bermuda Bay card stock, then attach that to a Basic Black card. Stamp the long sentiment/design from the Amazing Birthday stamp set on Chalkboard paper with Aquamarine Chalk ink and cut out with a paper trimmer. Stamp three hearts from the Something to Say stamp set in Rose Coral Chalk ink on Chalkboard paper and punch out with the heart punch from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack. Next stamp the cake image and the word “make” in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Daffodil Delight card stock and cut out. Ink up just the word “amazing” from the larger sentiment and stamp on Melon Mambo card stock and cut out. Arrange all pieces on the the face of the card and attach with snail adhesive or glue dots as needed.

Here are the supplies that you will need to make this card:
