Black and White and Red All Over

Black & White & Red All Over

As an elementary school teacher, and also as the former president of the organization for primary-age children at church I’ve had a lot of experience working with young kids. One thing I’ve noticed is that at about age 7, children become very interested in jokes, riddles and puns, so I decided to channel my inner 7-year-old with this card and answer the time-honored question:

“What’s black and white and red all over?”

Of course, the standard answer is, “yesterday’s newspaper,” but my interpretation of it was constructed with not only bygone era newsprint from the Typeset Specialty Designer Series Paper pack, but also the new Awesomely Artistic stamp set and Greetings Thinlits dies from the annual catalog. You may notice that I also picked up and incorporated a leftover scrap from Wednesday’s Mondrian-inspired card! This often happens; there’s always something lying around on my work table that might get used in whatever project I work on next.

A tiny amount of Dazzling Details glitter glue provides a subtle finishing touch.

Here are the supplies that I used to make my nostalgic and cheerful dragonfly card. Click on any product image for more information:
