Redesign and Restyle a Holiday Card!

Card Re-Do 1

Last year one of the sets that I used for my Christmas cards was Endless Wishes, now retired, which had several snowflake images and some mix and match words to design the sentiments (see the card on the right.) Happily, as I was going through my paper stash today I found a baggie with some extra cut materials to make more of those cards:

The Whisper White cards were already folded, the Lost Lagoon panels were cut to size and the oval scallops were already punched out of Rich Razzleberry card stock! I could have easily made up more cards just like these, but I decided to try something different with these pieces, using a current set from this year’s Holiday catalog:

I have been getting a lot of use from my Happy Scenes photopolymer set this year, and it worked nicely using the card in a horizontal landscape orientation rather than the vertical portrait style. I used a few more rhinestones, sponged the edges of the panel with Lost Lagoon ink and popped the scalloped sentiment piece up on foam Dimensionals for more depth.

Restyling a design from a previous year’s Christmas card can be a time saver at a busy time of the year!

Here are the supplies that I used to make this very quick and easy Happy Scenes card:

Endless Wishes is one of those stamp sets I didn’t pick up last year, but I’ve seen so many really pretty cards made with it lately. Wish I had picked it up now! Beautiful cards!

I loved using Endless Wishes so much. What a great take with a different set. I finally gave in an ordered the Happy Scenes set, like I need one more. But now I get to try out your card! Thanks for sharing.

This is such a clever idea! What is striking is that nobody could possibly guess that it is a redesign.
    Beautiful and elegant.

Soooo very pretty! I’m not a big fan of rhinestones…maybe becuz they’re so easy to overuse (and often are!). Yours are perfectly tasteful and perfectly sparkly as the stars.
